Drone images taken on Wednesday (September 10) show the latest stage of works as part of the Gallows Corner flyover renewal, more than two months after the junction first closed.
The initial structure of the new flyover is now beginning to take shape, with the first concrete panels appearing to have been laid along Eastern Avenue East.

Black cranes have also been pictured on both Eastern Avenue East and Southend Arterial Road, while the groundworks also seem to have started for the flyover opposite Gallows Corner Retail Park.

A hole appears to have been dug in the centre of the roundabout itself but it is not clear what the reason behind this is.
Transport for London (TfL) confirmed two weeks ago that the works are facing delays, with the completion date pushed back from September.

A new completion date has not yet been announced – TfL told the Recorder on Wednesday that it is working to confirm a new date “as soon as possible”.
In its most recent public update published on August 18, TfL said “major engineering works” still lie ahead.

This includes the construction of concrete supports, which will form the starting point for the new flyover, and the installation of the steel structure, column and beams.
