Aerial photos have captured the latest progress of the Gallows Corner works more than three months into the full closure.
Drone photos taken on Tuesday (October 7) show that no new sections have been added to the flyover along Eastern Avenue East over the past week.
However, there are now steel supports in position at either side of the roundabout, seemingly ready for the next concrete panels to be lifted in.

It is also clear from this angle that the centre of the roundabout has been extended beyond the previous road markings.
On the other site of Gallows Corner, along Southend Arterial Road (A127), there is currently one flyover support in place, closest to the roundabout.

In a letter to businesses and residents in September, Transport for London (TfL) said that construction of the new flyover is starting “primarily from the eastern side” – contrary to its original plan to construct from both east and west and meet in the middle.

Neither TfL nor Essex & Suffolk Water have confirmed a new timeline for the project, following the announcement of delays at the end of August.

TfL told the Recorder last week that it continues to “work urgently” with its partners to confirm a new reopening date.
A spokesperson for Essex & Suffolk Water previously told this paper: “We continue to work closely with TfL as we finalise and align our respective programmes of remaining works, with a focus on overcoming the various and separate challenges that each project is facing.

“With regards the water mains diversion, we are making good progress, with our focus firmly set on delivering our part of the work as efficiently and safely as possible.”
