Temporary traffic lights have been set up in Gubbins Lane, near its junction with The Drive, blocking off one of the lanes.
The roadworks, which are being carried out by Thames Water, are expected to last until September 15, according to Causeway one.network.

Gubbins Lane is one of the main diversion routes through Harold Wood while the Gallows Corner closure is in place.
Lower Bedfords Road, another northern diversion, was also impacted by emergency works after a water pipe burst.
Essex & Suffolk Water apologised for any inconvenience caused by the Lower Bedfords Road works and thanked drivers for their patience while the repair is carried out.
Thames Water did not respond to a request for further comment on the Gubbins Lane works.
