Kieran Atter, 35, was employed as a teacher at Hayes School when he was arrested for possessing images of child sexual abuse on January 5, 2023 – he left the role less than a month later.
He later admitted accessing indecent images of children using Twitter, saving the images on his phone and sharing them with others.
At Woolwich Crown Court last May, Atter was handed a 10-month suspended sentence.
A Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) panel decided on August 29 this year that he should be banned from the profession for life.
Atter admitted possessing images which included those in the most serious category A.
The panel had heard that when Atter distributed the indecent images he engaged in sexualised conversations regarding children and that he admitted having a sexual interest in children.
Atter was living at an address at Widmore Road with 37-year-old Scott Dobson at the time of his offending.
Dobson was also charged with having seven indecent images of children, he received an eight-month suspended sentence.

Atter and Dobson were both ordered to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years.
Atter will also be the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for 10 years.
The SHPO prohibits Atter from having any unsupervised contact or communication with any person under the age of 18 other than (a) such as is inadvertent and not reasonably avoidable in the course of lawful daily life or (b) with both the express consent of the child’s parent or guardian given after having been informed of the terms of this order and with the express approval of the Public Protection Unit for the area in which he resides.
