Forest Road has been shut after a water mains pipe burst near its junction with Elmbridge Road on Tuesday (August 12).
Photos of the street show water flooding the area in front of the traffic lights, with cones also in place at the road closure.
Essex & Suffolk Water has confirmed that its teams are currently at the site carrying out repairs, but has not confirmed how long Forest Road will be closed for.

A spokesperson for the water company said: “Earlier today, we were made aware of a burst on a 15-inch water main in Forest Road, Ilford.
“Our teams responded quickly, the water main has been isolated, and crews are currently on site carrying out repairs.
“No customer supplies were impacted, but we have a road closure and diversions in place on Forest Road to allow the work to be carried out safely.
“We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
