Rhidian said: “Living locally, we know what residents like and want and could see the potential of the pub.
“We’ve had an eye on it for some time, as it is in a great situation, five minutes’ walk from the park and from two local schools. Community goodwill is very important to me.
“I want The Stuffed Walrus to become a hub for events, whether that’s book clubs or mum and baby quizzes.
“I am really looking forward to moving to The Stuffed Walrus and creating the sort of neighbourhood pub I’d like to have on my doorstep.”

The Heineken-owned project aims to appeal to the evolving community, including families and young professionals.
Additionally, the garden will be transformed with café-style tables and chairs, high poseur-style barrel tables, wall lights, heating, and a mural.
Inside, the bar and lounge area will have a classic Victorian look with a refurbished central bar, panelled walls, decorative lighting, and timber flooring.
Seating will include leather banquettes, freestanding leather, and fabric-covered chairs.

Drinks will include coffee, premium lagers, wines, spirits, and cocktails made with homemade ingredients.
The couple plans to host live music, quizzes, and sports screenings, and will cater to home workers with access to a printer.
An outside room will host children’s activities in the summer, and before the pub opens at 11am, children’s dance classes will be held.
Michael Lee, Star Pubs business development manager, said: “We’re delighted to be investing in upgrading The Stuffed Walrus.
“It will be a welcome addition to Forest Hill and somewhere residents can be proud of.
“Coming from the community, Rhidian is well-positioned to create a perfect neighbourhood local.
“His laser focus on quality and extensive hospitality experience means residents are in for a treat with the food and exciting drinks he’ll be serving. I wish him well.”
