Police were called to Romford Road around 11pm yesterday (October 15).
Officers arrived with paramedics who rushed the 27-year-old man to hospital “as a priority”.
His injuries are thought not to be life-threatening or changing.
There have been no arrests as police appeal to the public for information on the incident.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 10.57pm yesterday (15 October) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Romford Road and Katherine Road, Forest Gate.
“We sent an ambulance crew to the scene.
“We treated a man before taking him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
A Met Police spokesperson said: “On Wednesday, 15 October at 23:00hrs police were called to Romford Road, E7 following reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a cyclist.
“Met officers attended the scene and assisted with road closures.
“The cyclist, a 27-year-old man was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
“His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
“At this stage, there has been no arrest.
