For one weekend, September 5 – September 7, the London Transport Museum will be putting on a series of vintage tube trains, which will be running on parts of the Underground’s Metropolitan line.

For one final time this year, riders can hop aboard a restored 1938 tube carriage and experience what life would have been like travelling on the underground eight decades ago.
This train was famously the first kind of Tube train to feature electrical equipment and served London for over half a century.
This unusual event marks both 25 years of Transport For London and 200 years of train travel, and will feature a costumed interpreter playing Charles Holden, designer of many London Underground stations from the 1920s through to the 1950s.
