Love Actually is one of the nation’s most beloved Christmas films with a full lineup starring Emma Thompson, Kiera Knightly, Alan Rickman and Hugh Grant.
The film was filmed at numerous locations in and around London such as Trafalgar Square and Heathrow Airport – but a village in Kent also has a surprising link to the film.

One of the village’s former vicars was the vicar who married lovestruck couple Juliet and Peter in the film with the filming for the scene taking place at Grosvenor Chapel in Mayfair.
Whilst none of the filming itself took place at Eynsford, the village was the filming location for other popular shows like ITV’s The Larkins.
During the winter months Eynsford offers a scenic day trip out of London with its views of the Darenth Valley, nearby walking routes and attractions like Lullingstone Roman Villa and Eagle Heights.

Just a short way from the village you’ll find Lullingstone Roman Villa, now owned by English Heritage, and this historical site is what remains of a Roman villa dating back to 100 AD.
The village is reachable from London by train from Bromley South taking just 18 minutes to reach the village.

If visiting in the winter the village is also home to a number of pubs to warm up after a countryside walk.
For seasonal dishes The Plough Inn is a historic pub with a modern conversion restaurant serving up a menu of changing dishes, whilst The Malt Shovel is dog-friendly, and The Five Bells is famously known as being one of the filming spots in The Larkins.
