The incident happened at around 10.15am on Tuesday, April 1, while the victim was travelling along the Hogsmill River near Mole Court.
She was approached by a man who asked for her electric scooter. He then assaulted her and tried to push her off before fleeing the scene.
The suspect is described by police as a black man, around five foot seven inches tall, with a muscular build.
He was wearing a black cap, a blue puffer coat and black trousers, and is thought to be in his late 30s.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has doorbell or CCTV footage from the area to come forward.
