Everyone Active, which manages several leisure centres in the borough, has announced the initiative to recognise individuals who are making a difference in the community.
The scheme will provide free support from local leisure facilities to those who are making a positive impact in the area.
The aim is to build stronger communities and acknowledge the dedication of those who go above and beyond.

The initiative is open to both charitable initiatives and small, targeted projects.
Successful applicants will be granted access to facilities within their local leisure centres to help them carry out their projects.
Everyone Active will also raise awareness of their work to strengthen connections, encourage civic engagement, and foster a culture of giving back.

Rebecca Eyles, Everyone Active’s contract manager, said: “We are hugely excited to launch the Community Champions scheme, which we hope will make a real difference in Sutton.
“We want to highlight the work of everyday heroes who are changing people’s lives and inspiring others to make a positive impact in their communities.
“We encourage local people, community projects, and charitable initiatives to get their applications in so we can support the fantastic work that you do.”
The Community Champions scheme is set to launch on May 1, 2025.
Those selected for the scheme also stand a chance of being shortlisted for the Champions Awards in autumn of this year.
Alongside this, Everyone Active is also set to launch its Colleague Champions scheme.
This will recognise and reward employees who consistently go above and beyond in their roles.
The scheme will celebrate the provision of exceptional customer service, innovative ideas, teamwork, leadership, and dedication to Everyone Active’s values.
Applications for both the Community Champions and Colleague Champions schemes open on May 1, 2025, and close on June 12, 2025.
Applications can be submitted via the Champions website at www.ea-champions.com.
Everyone Active also runs the Sporting Champions scheme, which has helped more than 6,000 athletes achieve their potential by providing access to training facilities and mentoring support from Olympians and Paralympians.
