Passengers were told to postpone their journeys due to an issue with the overhead power supply in the Channel Tunnel at around 11am today (December 30).
Eurostar has said it doesn’t expect the impact to last until tomorrow.
“As of now, we do not expect any impact for tomorrow,” it said while responding to a customer on X.
Previously, a Eurostar spokesperson said: “Due to a problem with the overhead power supply in the Channel Tunnel and a subsequent failed Le Shuttle train, we strongly advise all our passengers to postpone their journey to a different date.”
Services between London, Paris, and Brussels have been brought to a standstill, including trains departing from London St Pancras.
Travelers with tickets for today’s cancelled trains are being offered a range of options including a full refund, free exchange for a later date, or an e-voucher valid for 12 months.
Passengers have up to three months from their original travel date to claim their preferred option.
Eurostar is encouraging customers to use its website or app to manage their bookings and stay up to date with the latest information.
The company has stressed that even trains able to operate could be subject to substantial delays and last-minute cancellations.
Among the affected services are train ES 9032 from London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord (scheduled at 2.31pm), ES 9141 from Brussels Midi to London St Pancras (2.52pm), ES 9039 from Paris Gare du Nord to London St Pancras (3.12pm), ES 9036 from London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord (3.31pm), ES 9148 from London St Pancras to Brussels Midi (5.04pm), and ES 9047 from Paris Gare du Nord to London St Pancras (5.12pm).
Passengers have been told not to travel and to make alternative arrangements.
Compensation claims and booking changes can be managed through the Eurostar website.
