Essex Road has been cordoned all morning today (October 15) after police were called to the scene just past midnight.
The Islington Gazette initially reported that a boy, 17, is fighting for his life after being treated at the scene and taken to hospital.
However, the Metropolitan Police has revealed that there was a second boy injured with stab wounds, also aged 17.
He self-presented himself at hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
Officers believe that he was assaulted on Essex Road.
No arrests have been made at this stage and a crime scene remains in place.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “We understand the concern this has caused in the community and people can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.”
