Police were called to reports of a fight between “several men” on Essex Road in the early hours today (October 15), just past midnight.
A boy, 17, was treated at the scene for stab wounds before he was taken to hospital.
His condition is believed to be life-threatening.
Before police arrived at the scene, another 17-year-old boy self-presented himself at hospital with stab wounds.
Officers believe that he was assaulted on Essex Road.
The second boy is believed to not have life-changing or life-threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made at this stage and a crime scene remains in place.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “We understand the concern this has caused in the community and people can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.”
