Police were called to a disturbance in Southern Way at around 4.25am on Saturday, May 3.
At the scene, officers arrested Harry Clow, 24, of Bobbingworth Mill in Ongar, initially on suspicion of causing criminal damage.
Following further enquiries, he was also arrested on suspicion of rape.
He was then taken into custody and further arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.
He has now been charged with several offences and has been remanded in custody ahead of a court appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 6.
