The measures, introduced by Essex County Council, will affect parts of Harlow, Epping Forest, Brentwood and beyond into early 2026 to facilitate essential utility and infrastructure works.
The following closures are scheduled:
Ashlyns Lane, Bobbingworth, will be closed from January 19, 2026, for up to 21 days, to allow new electrical connection works to be carried out by UK Power Networks.
Drapers Corner, Ongar, will be closed between January 19 and January 23, 2026, for new electrical connection works undertaken by UK Power Networks.
Epping Lane, Theydon Garnon, will be closed between January 6 and January 7, 2026, to enable meter exchange works by Affinity Water.
Hobbs Cross Road, Theydon Garnon, will be closed on January 5, 2026, for pole testing works carried out by Openreach.
Hoe Lane, Nazeing, will be closed from January 16, 2026, for up to 43 days (over three phases), for gas main upgrade works undertaken by Cadent.
Horsecroft Road, Harlow, will be closed from January 21, 2026, for up to nine days, to allow electrical repair works by UK Power Networks.
Love Lane, Chigwell, will be closed from January 12, 2026, for up to five days, for new water connection works carried out by Thames Water.
Nine Ashes Road, High Ongar, will be closed from January 5, 2026, for up to five days, to enable duct works undertaken by Openreach.
Park Avenue, Hutton, will be closed in two sections from January 7, 2026, for up to seven days, to allow duct clearing works by Openreach, during which the 7.5-tonne weight restriction on Hanging Hill Lane will be temporarily suspended.
Pudding Lane, Chigwell, will be closed from January 15, 2026, for up to two days, for pole testing works carried out by Openreach.
Rivermill, Harlow, will be closed from January 8, 2026, for up to two days, to allow new duct laying works by Openreach.
Roding Lane, Chigwell, will be closed on January 25, 2026, for cable replacement works undertaken by Openreach.
Rye Hill Road (also referred to as Tysea Hill Road), North Weald Bassett, Epping Upland and Harlow, will be closed from January 12, 2026, for up to 12 days, to enable micro-ducting works carried out by Gigaclear.
Stonards Hill, Epping, will be closed from January 19, 2026, for up to two days, for new electrical connection works undertaken by UK Power Networks.
Tawney Lane, Stapleford Tawney, will be closed from January 6, 2026, for up to seven days, to allow overhead electrical works by UK Power Networks.
The Downs, Harlow, will be closed from January 21, 2026, for up to three days, for new cabling connection works undertaken by Openreach.
Toot Hill Road, Ongar, will be closed on January 8, 2026, for cabling installation works carried out by Openreach.
Toot Hill Road, Ongar, will also be closed from January 6, 2026, for up to two days, for new duct works undertaken by Openreach.
Woodgreen Road, Waltham Abbey, was closed from December 20, 2025, for up to two days, to allow new electrical connection works by UK Power Networks.
Goldsmiths, from its junction with Partridge Road in Harlow, will become a restricted parking zone with no waiting permitted at any time from January 5, 2026.
