The council has worked alongside residents and partners to make improvements to the town, taking advantage of its riverside location.
The refurbished gardens are set to open to the public in stages from July 5, featuring new seating, a playground, an outdoor fitness zone, and a community gardening area.

Some minor finishing work, including planting and ramp installation, will continue after the opening.
The newly constructed community space at 68 Pier Road will open in late July.
Named ’68’ by the public, this area will feature a kitchen, a hireable events area, meeting rooms, and a Changing Places toilet facility.

An indoor courtyard will also be available for outdoor events and for locals to meet and relax.
The leader of the council, Councillor Baroness O’Neill of Bexley OBE, said: “We’ve transformed the Riverside Gardens to make the most of its riverside location and we’ve created a new community space at 68 Pier Road for local people.
“We know that Erith has a lot of potential and we want this to be a springboard that enables Erith to take advantage of lots of other opportunities in the future so that it thrives as a place to live and do business.”
The Riverside Gardens and 68 Pier Road form part of the wider Erith Regeneration Programme.
This also includes work on Walnut Tree Road for pedestrians and vehicles, as well as further improvements in Erith High Street.
The Greater Erith Regeneration Programme at the London Borough of Bexley is delivering all of the improvements, funded by the council, the Mayor of London, and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
