Officers swarmed near to Erith and District Hospital on Thursday (August 14) at 2.13pm to a concern for safety in the area.
At the scene, a man was allegedly armed with what appeared to be an arrow and a metal pole.
No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made.
The London Ambulance Service was called at first, but this was stood down.
Investigations into the incident continue.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 14:13hrs on Thursday, 14 August to reports of concern for safety in Erith.
Officers attended Erith and District Hospital where a man was allegedly armed with what appeared to an arrow and a metal pole.
“No injuries have been reported and no arrests made as of yet.
“Enquiries continue.”
