Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called at 5.40pm on January 7 with reports of a man being assaulted in Eric Street.
Details of the report mentioned the use of a crowbar at the scene.
They were dispatched to the scene with London Ambulance Service paramedics, where a man in his 40s was found suffering from head injuries.
He was taken to hospital where his injuries were confirmed as non-life threatening.

He has since been discharged.
A man in his 30s and a 16-year-old have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
They remain in custody whilst the investigation continues.
