Fire crews were called to a hotel in Epping at 10.26am after reports of smoke coming from a ground floor bedroom.
Crews from Epping, Loughton and Harlow attended.
On arrival, firefighters reported the room was “completely smoke logged” and worked hard to extinguish the fire by 10.55am.
Guests and staff were evacuated and there were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is now being investigated.
