The foodbank has launched its annual Christmas FISH (Food In School Holidays) Appeal, which supports children who rely on free school meals to access nutritious food while schools are closed.
Working in partnership with schools, the foodbank identifies families in need and delivers food parcels throughout each school break.

Jacob Forman, director at Epping Forest Foodbank, said: “This year, we will be supporting over 400 children all within Epping Forest— a number that continues to rise.
For many families, school holidays bring added financial strain.
“Our FISH Appeal ensures that children who rely on school meals are not left without food during this period.”
Donations can be made securely through the foodbank’s campaign page at https://eppingforestfoodbank.beaconforms.com/form/318d5100.

The foodbank is asking the public to contribute financially to the appeal, as cash donations enable the team to purchase exactly what is needed for each family and maintain consistent, nutritious support.
Mr Forman said: “All contributions, no matter the size, make a direct and immediate difference.
“Your support helps us provide stability, dignity, and nourishment to children who need it most over the festive season.”
