Police arrived and approached suspect Tafari Panton, telling him they would be searching him and the vehicle for drugs.
As soon as he was told this, the 22-year-old sprinted off.
But unfortunately for Panton, he led himself down a dead end and after a brief chase officers were able to arrest him.
A nitrous oxide cannister, cannabis in snap bags and white rocks wrapped in lottery tickets were discovered in the vehicle.

He pleaded guilty to both charges, as well as driving without a licence or insurance.
Panton has now been sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
