The council says that the CPZs in the Lower Edmonton and the Bullsmoor area will help “maximise space for existing zone residents across the week”.
One of the proposed CPZs, Edmonton Green North, will be bounded by Hertford Road to the east, Croyland Road to the north and Balham Road to the west.
The other, Elmhurst Road to Connop Road, is bounded by Turkey Brook and part of Turkey Street to the north and Cannop Road to the south.
The council proposed a similar scheme in May in Edmonton Green, encompassing Sunnyside Road and Leonard Road, just to the south of the latest proposal in Edmonton Green North.
Parking restrictions for the two newly proposed schemes will be in place from 9am to 6.30pm, Monday to Sunday.
The council said current parking arrangements in the Edmonton Green North area have led to “high parking demands”, with commuter parking often to blame. Several CPZs already exist in the area however Balham and Croyland roads remain among the few areas with unrestricted parking.
The Elmhurst Road to Connop Road CPZ, in Bullsmoor, has been proposed due to “heavily congested” streets, mainly occupied by delivery trucks, shoppers, staff, residents and commuters.
Both consultations will run until Sunday, July 20 and residents can view maps outlining the proposed CPZs and provide their views in consultations.
