The ceremony at Havering Town Hall on Tuesday, September 9, paid tribute to those who work and volunteer across the NHS and emergency services.
A two-minute silence was observed to remember emergency service workers who have died in the line of duty.
Guests at the ceremony included council staff and Metropolitan Police personnel.
The Mayor of Havering, Councillor Sue Ospreay, said: “Emergency Services Day gives us the chance to show our support for the selfless men and women who protect us, serve our country, and keep us safe every day.
“They are an example to us all, and I would like to thank them for their continued hard work in serving our borough.”
Emergency Services Day recognises the vital work of the emergency services and asks the public to use their assistance only when necessary.
