Edmonton leisure centre was reopened on April 28, to the delight of the local community who rely on the facility for health and wellbeing.

The grand reopening showcases an extensive modernisation project aimed at meeting the needs of Edmonton residents.

The first phase of the spruced-up centre includes a top-of-the-range gym, a dedicated cycle studio, sports hall, and a fitness class studio.

In the coming months, the centre will continue its modernisation with improved swimming facilities slated for summer 2025.

The entire scheme is funded by a robust investment budget of £7.5 million.

Vishal Karia, GLL’s partnership manager for Enfield, said: “We’re thrilled that Edmonton Leisure Centre has finally reopened.

“This is a much-needed facility that plays a key role in the everyday lives of so many people.

“Whether you’re new to fitness or a long-time gym goer, there’s something here for everyone.

“We’re especially pleased to bring back the soft play area, giving families a fun and safe space to enjoy.”

Cllr Sabri Ozaydin, Enfield council’s cabinet member for placemaking and climate action, said: “We know how much the community has missed Edmonton Leisure Centre and how vital it is to the health, wellbeing and social life of local people.

“That’s why we’ve worked closely with our colleagues at GLL to get the centre back open as soon as possible.

“It’s been wonderful to welcome residents back to use our upgraded gym facilities which provide accessible and inclusive options for people of all ages and abilities, helping to create a healthier and more active Edmonton.”

Memberships for Edmonton Leisure Centre are available now with no contracts, hidden extras, or set-up fees to pay under a no-obligation arrangement.

A special launch code, ECLOPEN, can be used on the BETTER website at www.better.org.uk/leisure-centre/london/enfield/edmonton-leisure-centre, with full centre details and opening times.
