Arriving at Albert Square as Junior Knight, the estranged son of Queen Vic landlord George (Colin Salmon) last year, Micah Balfour quickly became a popular part of the programme.
However, after enjoying a sensational affair with his dad’s ex-wife, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), sightings of his character have been few and far between.
Micah Balfour axed from EastEnders and final scenes have already been filmed
Confirming Micah Balfour’s exit from EastEnders, a BBC spokesperson told Newsquest: “We can confirm Micah will be leaving EastEnders later this year. We wish him all the best for the future.”
It has also been claimed that his final scenes have already been filmed.
This comes after it was revealed that Molly Rainford, the actress who plays Micah’s on-screen half-sister Anna, was leaving the soap.
The departure was because of changes being brought in by Ben Wadey, who became executive producer in February.
The source said: “The Knight family were created by former boss Chris Clenshaw, so it was only natural that Ben would want to make his own mark on the show.”
