A passionate fan took to a forum to express their dislike of the relationship between Sharon (played by Letitia Dean) and Keanu (played by Danny Walters) after rewatching episodes from 2018.
The controversial love-up between the 19-year-old male and 48-year-old female attracted ire from other fans who also shared their misgivings about the relationship.

Taking to Reddit to discuss the EastEnders romance, the original poster said: “I might get some hate for this one. But I could never get my head around Sharon and Keanu’s relationship.
“How on earth was it glamorised and romanticised for a 48-year-old woman to have a passionate, serious, “baby-conceiving” affair with a 19-year-old?”
They also criticised the conclusion of Keanu’s storyline which saw him stabbed to death by Linda Carter.
The BBC show viewer said: “Speaking of Keanu’s death, what a waste of what potentially – could have been a greater character.”
Others in the thread agreed with the poster’s assessment with one person writing: “I don’t think it’s unpopular at all. They had their fans but I think a lot of people didn’t like it. Especially the second go around, trying to make out like they were true love which… lol.”

A second user said: “No it was a disgustingly cringy storyline. Anyone of a certain age that lusts after anyone with teen at the end of their age is a groomer imo. It wasn’t a great love affair. It was a poor taste storyline.”
A third person said: “I agree with your unpopular opinion and will do you one better: Sharon and Phil is the only way to go. What on earth is this Sharon and Teddy nonsense; come on.”
A fourth added: “Not unpopular at all lol it was weird AF Sharon could pass as his mum.”
