The airport’s community fund, which awards £75,000 annually, has allocated £48,165 to 17 charities and organisations this month.
Each successful applicant will receive a grant of up to £3,000 and groups from across Barking and Dagenham, Hackney, Newham, Redbridge and Tower Hamlets are in line to benefit.
Among those getting funding is Newham All Star Sports Academy (NASSA), which aims to help young people thrive through sport.
Natasha Hart MBE, chief executive of NASSA, said: “We at NASSA are grateful and want to thank London City Airport for the funding.
“For each young person that NASSA supports, we are also helping their family, friends, peers, and the community they live in.”
Michael Spiers, chief people officer at London City Airport, added: “We’re proud to support such a diverse range of charities and organisations that are doing remarkable work to build stronger, safer, and healthier communities.”
