Police were called to Barking Road at around 3.10am on Saturday (September 6).
The incident is took place outside a supermarket, believed to be Lidl.
Officers found a man suffering severe head injuries.
He was taken to hospital, where his condition has been described as life-changing.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
