Emergency services shut off East Ferry Road, near Crossharbour DLR station, today (October 27) at 2.16pm following the incident.
Photographs seen by this paper show a traffic light knocked down with a damaged car next to it.
The London Ambulance Service treated three people at the scene, with two of them being taken to hospital – with their condition unknown at this time.
However, the third person was discharged at the scene.
Police officers dispersed people at the scene.
East Ferry Road was closed both ways around Pepper Street for hours today, with the 135, D6 and D8 bus routes diverted.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today (Monday) at 2.16pm to reports of a road traffic collision in East Ferry Road, London, E14.
“We sent resources including ambulance crews, incident response officers, members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and London’s air ambulance.
“We treated three people. We took two of them to hospital and a third was discharged at the scene.”
