Oscar Castano-Colque, 22, previously of Woodfarrs in East Dulwich, repeatedly stabbed Rafioullah Malik on-board a bus in Oxford Circus.
In the days before the murder Castano-Colque had bombarded his ex-girlfriend with messages declaring his love for her and telling her their relationship wasn’t over.
After pleading guilty to murder Castano-Colque sentenced to life with a minimum of 25 years and six months at Croydon Crown Court last year.
But in February this year appeal judges reduced his minimum sentence by a year and a half to 24 years.
After their relationship broke down, Castano-Colque’s ex-girlfriend sent him photos of her in a restaurant with Rafioullah on February 28, 2023.
When couple then boarded the 94 bus along Oxford Street, Castano-Colque chased the bus then boarded it.
He then went up to Rafioullah and repeatedly stabbed him in the head.
Rafioullah was taken to hospital where he later died almost a month later on March 23.
