The incident happened at the station in George Street at around 5.45pm on October 24.
Officers attended and stopped the man with the sword later confirmed to be a wooden replica.

All lines towards Gatwick Airport was closed as the incident was dealt with, causing hours of delays.
Thameslink, Southern Railway and Gatwick Express services were disrupted with delays lasting until 7.30pm.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to East Croydon railway station at around 5.45pm on Friday (24 October) following reports of a man with a sword on a train coming into the station.
“Officers attended, including firearms officers, and met the train at the station, stopping a man and confirming the sword to be a wooden replica.”
