But the bakery – which has branches in Hackney and Haringey – is also a social enterprise business offering training and jobs to young people struggling to get work.
Now a group of 11 young people from Haringey’s Youth Justice Service have completed a five week pizza making programme at their bakery in Green Lanes.
The 10 session course saw the teenagers gain hands‑on experience in food prep, health and safety, communication and customer service – while boosting their confidence and career prospects.
Haringey Youth Justice Service, which works to prevent youth offending and reoffending, funded the scheme.
At they end the budding bakers showcased their pizza-making skills to families, staff, youth justice partners, and local restaurants – with six of them have going on to further training or paid roles with The Dusty Knuckle.
Others have stepped into paid training opportunities, with two taking on long‑term employment after graduation.
But every baker reported a boost in confidence, motivation, and a clearer path towards their future.
Cllr Zena Brabazon, Haringey’s Cabinet Member for Children, Schools & Families, said: “This programme is a fantastic way to equip young people with vital skills, confidence, and career pathways.
“Working with local businesses like The Dusty Knuckle bakery provides hands‑on experience that builds ambition, resilience, and practical knowledge. These foundations are key to preparing young people for success and future employment.”
