Abdul Khan, 27, of Durham Road, Harrow, was found guilty of the attempted murder of a man on January 23 at the Old Bailey.
The 27-year-old had previously pleaded guilty to the manslaughter through diminished responsibility of Bohdan Vandzhura, possession of an offensive weapon an actual bodily harm.
It comes after police responded to reports of a stabbing in Pinner Road on the morning of July 8, 2023.
The London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance were also dispatched to the scene, where 49-year-old Bohdan was found wounded.
The father-of-two died at the scene, with post-mortem examination confirming his cause of death as multiple stab wounds to the chest and neck.
CCTV footage from the area captured Khan disposing of the weapon and his father, Khalid Khan, leaving their home with a carrier bag containing his son’s bloodied clothes.
Abdul Khan was arrested the same day and charged within 24 hours. His 62-year-old father of Durham Road was convicted of assisting an offender in relation to the manslaughter.
The footage helped police identify the 27-year-old as a suspect in an earlier assault on another man in Harrow on August 20, 2022.
Khan was found to have punched a man to the ground before repeatedly stamping on him until he was unconscious.
Det Chf Insp Tom Williams said: “Our thoughts today are with Mr Vandzhura’s family and friends.
“This was a truly horrific assault by Khan on his innocent neighbour as he was heading to work one morning to provide for his family.
“The ferocity of the knife attack has shocked everyone who has seen the CCTV footage.

“Our thoughts are also with his second victim who suffered serious injuries in the attack.
“It’s clear that mental health was a key factor in the events building up to that day but Khan’s pattern of aggression towards two people cannot be ignored.”
He will be sentenced on March 25.
