Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to Weardale Avenue around 2.20pm yesterday (August 28).
Firefighters arrived with paramedics who treated one person for smoke inhalation, but a dog died in the fire.
Fire service volunteers are giving support to affected residents.
The fire is thought to have started in the living room, though a cause has not been specified.
Three fire engines attended, and crews in breathing apparatus used hose reel jets, a covering jet, and a high-pressured fan to extinguish the fire by around 4pm.
A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a house fire in Weardale Avenue, Dartford.
“Three fire engines attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets, a covering jet, and a high-pressured fan to extinguish the fire, which is believed to have started in the living room.
“One person was checked over at the scene for suspected smoke inhalation. However, sadly, a dog died.
“KFRS’ Volunteer Response Team also attended to offer advice and support to affected residents.”
