Harris Academy South Norwood is the only school in London and one of just 11 in the UK to secure the exclusive rights to perform the show.
The selection panel, led by Music Theatre International and Disney Theatrical Group, praised the school’s “bold, inclusive vision” and its celebration of South London’s diversity.
Alex Adamiuk, assistant principal and subject lead for music, said: “Every year we put on a musical with at least 100 students involved.
“This year, we are excited and delighted to be London’s only school with the rights to stage Frozen and cannot wait to spread the show’s message of inclusivity and diversity.
“It’s a show our students grew up with and the demand to be part of the show, either in the cast or band or to provide support backstage, was huge.”
Mr Adamiuk also commended students in Years 11 and 13 who are balancing rehearsals with their exams.
He said: “The show is a great way for them to express themselves and gain experience in rehearsing and performing – their ability to balance this with their studies is a credit to them.”
Performances are open to the public and will take place on July 2 at 5pm, July 3, 4, and 5 at 7pm, and a matinee on July 5 at 1pm.
Tickets are £3 for children and £5 for adults.
