The Metropolitan Police was called to Dingley Road at 10.53pm on September 24 with reports of a suspicious fire.
The fire had been put out by staff at the premises before the arrival of the police.
Mark Neville, of Pear Tree Street, Islington, was initially arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and possession of a bladed article on September 26.
On October 7, Neville was charged with arson with intent to endanger life, and possession of a knife in a public place.
The Attorney General, Baron Richard Hermer, authorised further charges on November 3 of:
- Possession of an explosive substance with intent to endanger life / injure property.
- Causing an explosion likely to endanger life or cause serious injury to property.
- Possession of a prohibited firearm.
- Possession of a prohibited offensive weapon in a private place.
- Possession of a prohibited weapon.

The charges relating to possession of a prohibited firearm, weapon, and possession of a prohibited offensive weapon in a private place relate to items found during a search of Neville’s address.
The 64-year-old appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on November 4 where he was remanded in custody.
He will next appear for a plea hearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court on December 2.
