The closure began shortly after 1.20am today (April 14), after a report was made to police.
A police spokesperson said: “Thanks to the person who made the report, we were able to respond quickly and begin engaging with the woman.”
The bridge remained closed whilst the incident was brought to a safe conclusion.
The woman was left in the care of health professionals.
The spokesperson added: “Thank you to all motorists who were affected by the closure for your understanding and patience.”

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “In the early hours of this morning, the Dartford River Crossing was closed as emergency services attended concerns for the welfare of a woman.
“The incident was reported to us shortly after 1.20am.
“Thanks to person who made the report, we were able to respond quickly and begin engaging with the woman.
“The bridge remained closed whilst the incident was brought to a safe conclusion, and the woman was left in the care of health professionals.
“The road was re-opened shortly after 4.30am.
“Thank you to all motorists who were affected by the closure for your understanding and patience.”
