The Bombay has been honoured at the Curry Life Awards 2025 ceremony which took place on Sunday, October 12.
Situated on the High Street, the restaurant was named the best in the country in the “Best Restaurant of the Year” category.
Mr Miah, the nephew of the original proprietor, has been at the helm for around a decade.
He said: “One man remembers his late father sitting at a specific table, a powerful reminder of how the restaurant holds a special place in people’s hearts, connecting generations through shared experiences and cherished memories.
“It’s more than a restaurant; it’s a community institution where every visit is a blend of delicious food, rich history, and personal nostalgia.”
ITV broadcaster Nina Hossain hosted the event, which celebrated the British curry industry’s innovation and excellence.
Syed Belal Ahmed, editor of Curry Life Media Group, said: “The UK’s curry industry features some of the country’s most innovative entrepreneurs and restaurateurs.
“All of them have inspiring stories to tell, and they must be given the necessary support to grow and thrive.”
