The Shell petrol station forecourt on Crystal Palace Parade has been cordoned off today (March 19) after the attack.
Officers have been at the scene since 2.50pm following reports of a serious assault.
A man, in his 50s, has been taken to hospital with stab injuries to his chest.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called 2.30pm on Wednesday, 19 March to Crystal Palace Parade, SE19 following a serious assault.
“A man in his 50s was taken to hospital after sustaining a stab wound to his chest. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
“Officers remain in the area and no arrests have been made at this stage.”
