Environmental health officers carried out visits across the borough between February and July 2025, issuing low scores under the Food Standards Agency’s national food hygiene rating scheme.
Four businesses were given a hygiene rating of 0, meaning urgent improvement is required. A further 15 venues were rated 1, indicating major improvement is necessary.
The rating system evaluates food handling, cleanliness of premises and food safety management. Scores range from 0 to 5 and are published online by the FSA. While displaying the rating is not mandatory in England, the results help customers make informed decisions about where to eat and shop.
