The Croydon High Street Post Office had been due to move to the TGJones store in the Whitgift Centre, but the relocation plan has been cancelled due to revised redevelopment schedules for the shopping centre.
A Post Office spokesman said: “The planned move of 10 High Street Post Office in Croydon to the nearby TGJones store at the Whitgift Centre is no longer progressing.
“Regrettably, following further discussions between our retail partner and their landlords there is earlier redevelopment plans for the shopping centre than initially believed.
“Therefore, TGJones has decided not to relocate High Street (10) Post Office branch to its store.”
The branch was franchised in November and has since been operated by ZCO Ltd as part of an interim arrangement until a permanent move could be agreed.
ZCO Ltd will continue running the branch at 10 High Street until further notice.
