Cranbourne Gardens, in Golders Green, will be shut between numbers 23 and 27 for the new water connection.
The closure was scheduled to begin yesterday (Monday, September 15) at 8am.
Barnet Council stated the road will be closed to facilitate the undertaking of a new water connection.
Residents will be allowed access when necessary.
The work is expected to be completed by Friday, September 19.
The council has stated that the closure does not apply to any activities conducted with the permission of, or under the direction of, a uniformed police officer or other uniformed personnel authorised by the Commissioner of the Metropolis.
