The London Fire Brigade sent crews from across the capital to Coventry Close, in Kilburn, at around 2.45pm on January 17, after reports a derelict building was on fire.
The entirety of the ground floor of the three-storey building went up in flames, and four people had to be helped to safety by firefighters at the back of the building.
Photos show fire crews dashing to the scene with ladders, as well as an ambulance and police vehicles parked outside the cordon.
Station Commander Kevin Morgan, who was in attendance, said: “Due to heavy smoke, local residents were advised to keep their windows and doors shut.
“Motorists were advised to avoid the area due to a road closure on Kilburn High Road between Belsize Road and Oxford Road.”
Crews from West Hempstead, North Kensington, Paddington, Chelsea, Bethnal Green and Willesden fire stations got the fire under control by 4.03pm.
Several buses remained on diversion once the fire was under control, including the 31, 32, 206, 316 and 328.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the London Fire Brigade.
