The Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA) honour the finest South Asian cuisine across the UK, recognising restaurants and takeaways for outstanding food quality, service, and community contribution.
Judges assess the authenticity of dishes, consistency, creativity, customer experience, and overall influence on the local dining scene.
Coulsdon Spice on The Mount has been named a finalist in the Regional Restaurant of the Year Surrey category.
Coulsdon Spice has become a local favourite for its blend of traditional and modern Indian cuisine.
The menu features everything from aromatic Chicken Tikka Biryani and smoky Chicken Shashlik to the rich and creamy Paneer Tikka Masala.
Vegetarian options include Paneer Tikka Masala and a selection of popular vegetable curries. Starters and lighter bites include Seekh Kebab, Onion Bhaji, and Pani Puri.
One reviewer said: “The most authentic curry in Coulsdon, super nice owners and awesome service.
“We ordered babab chicken and lamb jalfrezi, poppadoms, garlic naan, and pilau rice.
“The restaurant is really clean, and the kitchen staff are also very welcoming, which is an added bonus.”
Coulsdon Spice is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday between 5pm and 10.30pm, and from 5pm to 10pm on Sunday.
The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays.
The ARTA awards highlight both established favourites and hidden gems, giving recognition to businesses that excel in bringing South Asian flavours to a wider audience.
The awards ceremony will take place on October 6 at the London Hilton Park Lane, where the winners will be announced.
Mohammed Munim, Founder Member and CEO of ARTA, said: “Asian restaurants and takeaways have long played a vital role in the UK’s economy and culture.
“Their contribution through job creation, community impact, and culinary excellence, deserves to be recognised.
“Especially in today’s challenging climate, ARTA is proud to champion their achievements and support their continued success.
“Every nominee is a testament to the industry’s resilience, and we look forward to celebrating them on 6th October.”
