The money is to help households struggling to meet bills such as food, energy or clothing.
Pensioners are to receive £150 if they get Council Tax support or Housing Benefit but do not have Pension Credit, while payments of £195 are going to households with a disabled family member facing financial hardship.
“This makes a difference to struggling families,” Haringey Council cabinet member Cllr Seema Chandwani said. “The decision to extend Household Support for another year is welcome news for those facing cost-of-living pressures and anyone in financial hardship.”
Automatic payments of £95 are going to those eligible.
Households will get a letter from the council with a voucher that they can cash at any post office, including food vouchers during the school holidays for children who get free meals in term time.
One-off support is also available for those facing financial hardship, based on individual circumstances.
