The London Ambulance Service was called to Commercial Road in Whitechapel at around 12.45pm yesterday (January 14).
Paramedics treated a patient at the scene and took him to hospital.
The road was closed for several hours after the incident but has since reopened.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.46pm yesterday (14 January) to reports of a road traffic collision in Commercial Road, Whitechapel.
“We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre.”
