Collier Row Mosque in Chase Cross Road has applied to Havering Council to vary a previous planning condition limiting its hours of operation.
The mosque was built in 1999 when it was allowed to operate only between the hours of 6am to 3pm on Sundays and from 6pm to 9pm on Mondays.
After several failed applications for extended hours and an appeal, the mosque was granted new hours in 2022.
At present, the place of worship is open from 12pm to 7.30pm from Monday to Friday, and from 12pm to 5.30pm on weekends and bank holidays.
Its current hours were given conditional approval in January last year taking them from temporary hours to permanent.

Havering Council justified the conditions stating the limitations are “in the interest of the amenities of the local residents”.
Iqra Educational & Cultural Centre, who run the mosque, has now applied to see the hours extended to 11am to 10pm all days of the week.
A decision on the bid is estimated to be made by April 14.
