The Metropolitan Police were first called to concerns for a man’s welfare in Colindale Avenue on Tuesday (March 18) at 1.45pm.
Officers were engaging with the man, and he then fell from a height outside of the station onto the railway line.
British Transport Police (BTP) officers discovered when arriving that the incident developed and the concern for welfare near the station became a casualty on the tracks.
The BTP have now taken over the case to investigate into the matter.

The Northern line was part suspended between Golders Green and Edgware due to the incident, with minor delays between Camden Town and Golders Green.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Met officers were called to concerns for a man’s welfare in Colindale Avenue, NW9, at around 13:45hrs on Tuesday, 18 March.
“Officers attended and were engaging with the man. He then fell from height onto a railway line.
“Officers from the British Transport Police also attended, alongside the London Ambulance Service, the London Fire Brigade and London’s Air Ambulance.
“Sadly the man died at the scene.
“The investigation is being led by BTP.”
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called by Metropolitan Police to Colindale underground station at 1.50pm today (18 March) to reports of a concern for welfare near the station.
“Upon arrival, officers were informed the incident had developed and they were responding to a casualty on the tracks.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances leading up to their death.”
