Once home to Henry VIII’s grand Nonsuch Palace, the parkland has witnessed royal splendour, destruction, and transformation.
While the palace no longer stands, remnants of its past remain, shaping the landscape visitors enjoy today.
The park features historical elements such as the 18th-century Nonsuch Mansion, a striking example of Gothic Revival architecture.
Nearby, the remains of formal gardens hint at the estate’s former grandeur.
One reviewer on TripAdvisor said: “This place emphasises the tranquillity of Cheam.
“It has nice walking areas, that are kept well, and a good cafe.
“It benefits from being set back from the main roads, which helps to give a quiet feeling of near countryside in an urban area.”
Another reviewer said: “I have visited this park on many occasions with friends, my dog, and alone.
“It is a beautiful place, that has lovely places to walk, and a quiet place that doesn’t allow dogs.
“It’s ideal for family picnics, and for children to run around.”
Cheam is also home to the titular Cheam Park.
Another popular feature of the area is the Whitehall Museum.
The museum, which is free entry, showcases exhibitions which showcases fascinating details from the Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian era.

One TripAdvisor reviewer said: “We visited during December and there were wonderful craft activities for children and a snowball hunt.
“The people that run the events are so welcoming.
“Furthermore, all the activities were free.
“There is a nice cafe there too, although more kid friendly items on the menu would be good.”
Cheam is not short of great dining spots, with one standout being No 8 The Broadway, which brings refined, central London-style dining right to Cheam.
One reviewer said: “Nice personal service.
“The chef even came out and gave recommendations and asked how we wanted our meats cooked.
“All ingredients are fresh, and the meat was not dry at all.
“Service was fast considering it was a roast dinner.
“It’s good for groups as they have good sharing options.”

Cheam has also been named as one of the safest places to live in London.
